This manuscript records cash payments made by James Stewart to various individuals from 1799-1808 in the form of signed receipts. The majority of the entries note only the amount paid; however, the items mentioned include such baking supplies as flour, butter, and kegs [of lard], as well as rent, taxes, and newspaper subscriptions.
